Shyamasundari Prakalpa

  • 2011,Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan started its School of Nursing ,recognized by the Indian and West Bengal Nursing Council, for the training of three and half years “General Nursing Midwifery” residential course with an annual intake of 20 students.

  • Further for Womens Empowerment, Matri Bhavan also conducts and totally sponsors for marginalized girls a one year residential Nursing Assistant Course with 20 students per year, to let them lead a decent and respectful livelihood.

  • Besides this we are conducting a Vocational Training Programme to teach the poor girls & women Sewing, Knitting, Spoken English, Art, Computer Training etc. to enable them to be self dependant & earn their own livelihood.

To run all these Educational, Vocational and Cultural activities, under Shyamasundari Prakalpa funded by Ministry of Culture, Government of India Ramakrishna Sarada Mission Matri Bhavan has constructed Vivekananda Educational Complex ( Basement + G + 3 storied Building) which will accommodate not only the School of Nursing and the Community and Vocational Training units but also a Community Hall for the purpose of Medical Workshops/ Seminars for Doctors and Nursing Staff, Health and Hygiene Education for underprivileged women & children and also value based educational seminars and cultural activities for young girls.

The progress report of the construction of the Vivekananda Educational Complex is as follows:


  • Foundation stone of the Vivekananda Educational Complex was laid on November, 2012.

  • Piling work for the basement of the above building was started by SCGC Engineering services Pvt. Ltd. on December’2012 and it was completed byJune’2013.

  • For a new water supply connection a deep Tube well and Submersible pump was installed at a cost of Rs. 3,05,000/-

  • A new Electric connection from CESC Ltd to a Meter Box for construction work was installed costing Rs. 27,596/-.

The total expenditure for the 1st phase for Shyamasundari Prakalpa was Rs. 7,53,179/-


  • Thereafter, sealed tenders have been invited for the construction of the Vivekananda Educational Complex. On examination , scrutiny and evaluation of all the records and reports relating to “ Tender for Civil works” for Vivekananda Educational Complex ( School of Nursing Project) at 29, Sree Mohan Lane, Kolkata – 700026, by the Tender Committee of Swamiji’s 150th Birth Anniversary Commemoration Project and the Architect Sri Mukul Mitra of Shelter the tender offered by M/S Creative Constructions for a total amount of Rs. 1,40,18,623/- ( the lowest) without any changes in tender conditions and with acceptance of all terms and conditions of the tender is recommended for acceptance by the Tender Committee. The Work order was given to Creative Construction.

  • The project construction work is progressing substantially. The foundation work and basement have been completed. The roof casting of the Ground Floor was completed.

The total expenditure for the 2nd phase for Shyamasundari Prakalpa was Rs. 32,53,285 /-


The 1st Floor, 2nd Floor & 3rd Floor roof casting were completed. 1st & 2nd Floor wall construction is going on. The finishing work of Ground floor is near completion and simultaneously orders for equipment necessary for the project are being processed. Construction work for Lift is going on.

The total expenditure for the 3rd phase for Shyamasundari Prakalpa was Rs. 67,70,623 /-


Vivekananda Educational Complex under this prakalpa was completed. February,2015. Some furniture and Books for Library were purchased.

  • On 26.09.2014 Revered Pravrajika Bhaktiprana Mataji, President, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission, Dakshineswar, graced the occasion of the Inauguration of Vivekananda Educational Complex . Puja, Havan and Ramnam Sankirtan were performed during the inauguration of Vivekananda Educational Complex.

  • The Official Inauguration of Vivekananda Educational Complex was performed on 26.02.2015.Revered Amalaprana Mataji, General Secretary , Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna Sarada Mission , Dakshineswar presided over the ceremony and inaugurated the Building . Her keynote address deeply inspired one and all . Sri Prashant Kumar , C.G.M., S.B.I , Kolkata , Sri Shovandev Chattopadhyay , Chief Whip, Govt. of West Bengal and Smt. Mala Roy, Ward Councillor, K.M.C graced the Occasion as Guests of Honour and addressed the august gathering.


  • Furniture for the School of Nursing Building were procured.

  • Intercom connection were installed at Vivekananda Educational Complex , 29 Sree Mohan Lane, Building for Sahayika Sevika Courses , 13/1A Sree Mohna Lane and in some places of Hospital Building, 7A, Sree Mohan Lane.

  • CCTV connection and Broad Band connection (For Video Conference) was installed in Vivekananda Education Complex.

  • Computer systems were purchased for the School of Nursing students (G.N.M. Course)

  • All the equipment for the E-Library were procured .

  • Our some staff nurses were sent in different medical seminar.
